On Thursday, the NFL introduced some new rules that could potentially have a significant impact around the league during the upcoming season.
Teams that have a COVID outbreak among unvaccinated players during the regular season could now be forced to forfeit games if any impacted matchups are unable to be rescheduled.
If a game is canceled next season due to a COVID outbreak, no players from either team in the matchup will receive a game check. After finding this news out, Hopkins then posted the following on his Twitter account.

Following a pregame warmup, though, he'll be available to Arizona's offense versus a Green Bay defense that will be without Week 1 starting cornerbacks Jaire Alexander shoulder and Kevin King shoulder. Official confirmation of his availability will arrive upon the release of inactives prior to Thursday night's p.

Hopkins wasn't spotted on the field earlier in the day in the portion of the practice that was available to the media, and the wideout apparently didn't get in any reps behind the scenes either. Now having been listed as a non-participant on both of Arizona's first two Week 8 practice reports, his availability for Thursday's game against the Packers can't be viewed as a sure thing. Hopkins would assuage some of the concern about his status if he returns to the field for Wednesday's session as at least a limited participant.
Hopkins hamstring wasn't spotted on the practice field Tuesday during the portion open to the media, Howard Balzer of SI. The official practice report should provide a better indication of Hopkins' overall participation Tuesday, but he was a non-participant Monday and may be headed for another DNP if the open media portion is any indication.
The star wideout's injury is ill-timed given a recent hot stretch that has seen him notch four touchdowns in the last three games, and a season-high seven catches versus the Texans last week. Hopkins has one more chance to upgrade his practice participation Wednesday ahead of a Thursday contest versus the Packers.
